On Veteran's Day, Monday, November 11th the Hero Workout" CHAD" will be programmed for all group classes at Bell City CrossFit.
"CHAD1000X is a CrossFit Hero workout written in honor of Navy SEAL Senior Chief Chad Wilkinson, who died by suicide on Oct.29, 2018 as a result of several traumatic brain injuries, blast-wave injuries, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) stemming from many deployments across more than two decades of service. Chad is survived by his spouse, Sara, a former CrossFit Seminar Staff flow master, and children, Kinsley and Hudson; as well as countless other friends and family.
The CrossFit community joins together annually on Veteran’s Day in thousands of CrossFit affiliates and garage gyms around the world to tackle this workout in Chad’s memory, raising funds to support Veteran Mental Health Initiatives through The Step Up Foundation, an organization Sara founded in Chad’s honor to change the narrative concerning the number of veteran suicides by dramatically expanding awareness regarding the effects of blast wave injury, traumatic brain injuries, and post-traumatic stress."
"CHAD" is a special hero workout that we program every Veteran's Day at Bell City. It is 1,000 Box Step Ups for time and performed as RX'd includes wearing a 35-lb ruck for women and a 45-lb ruck for men.
You can choose to register to join the fitness community tackling the CHAD1000X challenge HERE, or you can choose to donate to the Step-Up Foundation HERE.
Since this workout takes around an hour or more to complete, if you'd like extra time to complete this workout on Monday, please prepare your schedule accordingly:
Morning Classes:
5:30am stay after class to wrap up if needed.
8:00am arrive early to finish before 9:00am.
NoonClass:
stay after class to wrap up if needed.
Evening Classes:
4:30pm and 5:30pm can run into the next class to finish.
6:30pm arrive early to finish before 7:30pm.
Please note, this is ALOT of volume, and there will be scaling options available to ensure the volume you choose is appropriate for you.
