What’s up, Bell City CrossFit!

Week 1 of the 2025 CrossFit Open is officially in the books, and what an absolute gas tank test it was!

25.1 gave us 15 minutes of ascending reps of burpees over the dumbbell and Single-arm dumbbell hang power cleans & overhead...with some lunges sprinkled in (because why not?!) 💀.

No place to hide, no time to rest—just pure grit.

And speaking of grit, our very own Coach Ethan gave it everything he had in attempt #2, stacking up 307 reps—just 3 reps shy of Rich Froning’s score! 🐐🔥

But despite Ethan’s near-GOAT performance, his team “Double Up or Shut Up” is currently sitting in… last place. 😅. As they say, "There is no 'I' in Team"—but there is in “Finishing Last” (just saying).

On the women’s side, Coach Kiara put up a dominant 260 reps, helping launch her team, “Squat Squad,” to the top of the leaderboard!

Week 1 Team Standings:

🥇 Squat Squad – 153 points

🥈 Purple Cobras – 154 points

🥉 Double Up or Shut Up – 195 points

Wait… you read that right. One point separates first and second place! 😳

And we’re only getting started. Could a heavy barbell shake things up next week?
